Avo Nice Shave is truly an EXTRAORDINARY Scent that doesn't come around too often! This scent goes all the way back to 2018 (though some believe 2016...who's to say?) and was Originally created for the So-Cal Wet Shavers Collective Meet-Up of that year.

You see, back in the day when I would create special soaps for the different meet-ups, I would base the scent off of the location, state, history, local legends, hauntings, high strangeness, etc. The plan was to eventually do all 50 states; all offering their own unique scent profiles with their own magical, stately charms. Of course this would mean meet-ups would really need to start springing up everywhere and then well...Covid. But I'm not going to bore you with that. The point is, there was a time when I thought it just might happen...I still believe it will. *looks at watch, then back at you.

Wow, I'm really letting this newsletter get away from me. Ahem...

Soooo, Southern California was due for its own flavor once more. It's true, there were a lot of epic meet-ups happening in California at that time. I mean, I had already done an homage to "Mr. Zog's", The Rose Parade, A Bear Fougere Royale (think flag) & even a beach bum, Vintage VW scent. So what was gonna be next I pondered to myself. Thinking back I like to imagine I was eating a piece of $15 avocado toast when it struck me, but sadly that was not what happened.

Thing is, I just like avocados. I love everything about them really; The creamy texture, the fresh, buttery greeness, the endless list of skin and health benefits...and if you told a child under 5 (and some adults) it was an alien egg, I'm sure they would believe you. [ I'm still not convinced their home planet is Earth.]

The only problem is, there's no such thing as avocado essential oil nor is it blooming with fragrance! So, we were going to have to build it from the ground up. Think banana or strawberry. These fruits also fail to provide us with their own natural essential oils or much of  a Fragrance at all...so as the creative beings us humans are, with not much else to do or worry about; created those scents. It's true, the scents we hold in our mind when we think of those fruits is of human construct. Mind blowing I know, and how could I ever compete in the same league with these iconic classics of the scratch n sniff era?

But as you know, I like a good challenge and after much pushing and pulling at the scent I really think we captured the spirit and essence of the Avocado. That said, it really is SOOOOOO MUCH MORE! Remember, I was creating this for the cream of the crop traditional shavers of the day. So note, while Avo Nice Shave is an homage to the magical Cali Fruit, it is also a fresh take on a out of this world barbershop scent. Seriously, look at the scent notes, there is genuine Euro/Mediterranean Barbershop DNA in there: Citrus Peel, Bosc Pear, French Lavender, Sweet Basil, Vine Ripe Olive, Cashmeran, Musk & Cyclamen! Needless to say, it was a real crowd pleaser...but not only due to its amazing scent, but visually too!

I kid you not, not only was the soap for that first meet-up release green with Real Chlorophyll, we also pushed a brown, seed shape pre-shave soap into it! This time around we just didn't have the time for that kinda cherry on top treatment but the Aftershave/Cologne & EDP still contains Avocado Oil & Chlorophyll, harkening back to the spirit of that special day! Green, Creamy & Clean!
